Shell Low Carbon Fuels.
Breadth on knowledge and ease to work with, built up good working relationships which progressed
into supporting more areas as things developed. GFL are extremely flexible in their approach and able to adjust on the fly as projects pivot. In addition to this they can cover many areas simultaneously. Ease to work with and breadth of knowledge both practical and theoretical. Turn around of large packages of work.
Chowchilla Site capacity: 4,969 m3/hr
US Project developed by GFLZC to produce 2,000k MMBtu of D3 and D5 RNG. Separate menus are developed to diversify and prevent dependence on a single feedstock. GFLZC developed scenarios, various technology, and layouts for this project, catering on farm de-watering of low dry matter substrates, which allows for higher dry matter feeding. The process consists of 6 streams of 1 pre-digestion tank, 2 Primary Digesters and 1 Secondary Digester, feeding 690,690 t/a.
Manitoba Site capacity: 2,400 m3/hr
The Manitoba RNG facility will produce large volumes of RNG (750k – 1000k MMBtu/year) from hog manure as feedstock, with a total pig count of 288k and annual total manure of 147,391k Imp Gallons. GFLZC is the project developer and has modelled four streams to produce 600 m3/h biomethane per stream. The RNG facility will be located on an 80-acre field. The preliminary gas interconnection screening results received on August 24th, 2023, shows that there is enough capacity for biomethane to grid injection.
GFL013 Site capacity: 2,340 m3/hr
The project evaluated the technical and business feasibility of a Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) facility. The facility treats about 461,000 tonnes/ year of local (mostly within 40 miles radius) organic waste products from a variety of sources, including municipal solid waste, agricultural production, and organic industrial waste such as food waste. This project abates up to 110,000 tonnes/year of CO2e by displacing diesel transport fuels.
For RNG projects, there is a deep expertise on the technology and operational challenges as well
a good analytical expertise. GFL has good relationships in the market with technology providers and other producers. Previously worked with GFL on a number of projects and have always had a good experience.

Sunnyside Site capacity: 4,674 m3/hr
Project developed by GFLZC and later revisited on behalf of a potential funder for due diligence 6-stream 607,624 t/a dairy manure and straw processing site. The process consists of 6 streams of 1 pre-digestion tank, 2 Primary Digesters and 1 Secondary Digester.
GFL012 Site capacity: 2,340 m3/hr
The project evaluated the technical and business feasibility of a Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) facility. The facility treats up to 255,000 tonnes a year of local organic waste products from a variety of sources, including municipal solid waste, agricultural production, and organic industrial waste such as food waste. The site exports around 235,000 tonnes of biofertilizer in the form of digestate (fibres, cake, LTP concentrate and LTP concentrate). This project also abates 58,000 tonnes/year of CO2e by displacing diesel transport fuels.
